Congratulations to the Boys Cross Country Team who finished their season this past weekend at the WIAA State Championships in Wisconsin Rapids. It was the best season ever as they won their second consecutive BRC and Sectional titles and then finished in 3rd place at State, the highest placement in school history! Over the course of the season they compiled a record of 193 wins and 5 losses. Special shout-out to Owen Pelzel who led the team at State with a 21st place finish and will earn Honorable Mention All-State Honors! The team will also earn Academic All-State honors, as the top 7 who ran at State all have GPA’s over 3.5 and their top 5 GPA average is 3.99! Well done boys on a historic season!

The MHS Equestrian Team are the 2026 Division A state champions! They competed against seven other Division A teams from all over the state that qualified for the state show. They had an amazing weekend that came down to the last class of the competition. Division A is a large team bracket that consists of 11-14 kids per team. The team ended the weekend with 297 points to take home the trophy. This is our first Division A State win unseating the Chippewa Falls Cardinals for the first time from the #1 spot.

This past weekend the Girls Swim and Dive Team competed in the Big Rivers Conference Meet. Ofelia Prechel and Layla Soviak started the weekend off on Friday night getting the team on the board, both building on their previous success from this season with Prechel placing 4th overall. Saturday continued the team’s success with Ellie Zydowskyplacing 4th overall in the 100 freestyle event. Amongst the 13 competing athletes there were over 20 personal bests achieved throughout the competition. The biggest improvement of the night came from Sophia Wilterdink, dropping over 10 seconds in the 100 backstroke event. The team placed 6th overall in this year’s conference meet and will go on to compete next Friday and Saturday at the Division 2 Sectional Meet hosted in Rice Lake.
