Hosford-Chase American Legion Post 32 will host a Veterans Picnic by the River on Tuesday, October 6, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Riverside Park in Menomonie.

The event is intended as a relaxed gathering for local veterans and their families, with food, fellowship and a chance to try fly casting.

Veteran coaches from Rivers of Recovery will offer a fly casting experience, giving participants an opportunity to pick up a rod and give casting a try. No previous experience is needed.

Legionnaires, VFW members, other area veterans, family members, friends and caregivers are welcome. Participants may come and go as they wish.

There is no cost to attend. The picnic is provided courtesy of Post 32 and local supporters. Bill’s Distributing is serving as Beverage Sponsor, and Kwik Trip is a Community Sponsor.

The group will gather near the river at the back of Riverside Park, past the shelter.
