MENOMONIE – Menomonie Theater Guild is thrilled to announce the inaugural production of their 2026-27 season, Come From Away, to be performed on the Mabel Tainter Stage on the weekends of October 9-11, and 16-18.
Come From Away is based on the true story of the time when the isolated community of Gander, Newfoundland, played host to the world. What started as an average day in a small town turned into an international sleepover, when 38 planes, carrying thousands of people from around the globe, were diverted to Gander’s airstrip on September 11, 2001.
Undaunted by culture clashes and language barriers, the people of Gander cheered the stranded travelers with music, an open bar and the recognition that we’re all part of a global family.
Director Carol Ropella shares “With the 25th anniversary of September 11th, Come From Away is such a timely show, celebrating the generosity and goodness of ordinary people in an extraordinary situation. The cast and artistic team of this production have been so moved to learn the true stories of the people of Gander, and the plane passengers. We hope that our audiences will laugh, cry, and cheer for these remarkable real life characters.”
Tickets are on sale now, and audiences are encouraged to secure their seats early for this highly anticipated production. Join Menomonie Theater Guild this October for an unforgettable theater experience celebrating community, resilience, and the power of kindness!
