MENOMONIE — The Murals in Menomonie project is entering its final phase, and the community is being invited to help bring it across the finish line.
With strong early support from local businesses, organizations, and individual donors, the initiative is now within reach of full funding. Once complete, the murals will transform walls throughout Menomonie into a vibrant, walkable gallery—celebrating local history, creativity, and community identity while enhancing the city’s appeal to visitors.
“This project has always been about more than art,” said Tammy Simon, Event Coordinator. “It’s about creating something that reflects who we are as a community and inviting others to experience it. We’ve made incredible progress, and now we’re asking the community to help us finish what we’ve started.”
The mural event, taking place June 24-28, 2026 is expected to draw visitors to Menomonie, support local businesses, and contribute to long-term placemaking efforts. Public art projects like this have proven to increase foot traffic, encourage exploration, and strengthen community pride.
Planning for the event has been a collaborative effort between several local organizations. “This is a unique opportunity for people to be part of something lasting,” Becca Schoenborn, Executive Director at Downtown Menomonie, added. “Every contribution helps shape how Menomonie is experienced for years to come.”
