Congratulations to the Boys Tennis Team for winning the Mustang Invite yesterday. The team started with a 7-0 sweep of Superior, followed by another 7-0 sweep against Baldwin-Woodville, and finished the day with a 6-1 win over Onalaska.
In a hard-fought battle the JV2 Baseball Team showed grit and poise to defeat Durand-Arkansas 10-7. It was a total team effort that allowed them to jump out to a 1-0 start for the season. JV Baseball kept the streak alive with a commanding 12-2 victory over Wausau West. Zach Bird provided a stellar outing on the rubber, while the bats erupted early. The lineup featured a barrage of hits and extra-base knocks from top to bottom, leaving little room for a comeback. The Varsity Baseball squad put on a clinic last night, defeating Wausau West 11-3. Max Erickson set the tone on the mound, earning the win with four dominant, no-hit innings. The offense was equally relentless, spearheaded by Luke Bystol, who went 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs, and Oliver Lugo, who turned heads with two hits and three stolen bases.
Girls Softball played Memorial last night coming away with big wins at both the JV and Varsity levels. Varsity won 15-2 and were led by a great pitching performance from Presley Verdon. At the plate, Ady Micek and Elsa Elliott tallied 2 hits a piece. JV won 24-4 with a strong pitching performance by Breely Fuhrman and strong team defense. Breely Fuhrman and Kenna Marsolek both hit in the park home runs in the win.

The Varsity Golf Team had their first meet of the season Wednesday at Troy Burne Golf in Hudson. 20 teams and 120 golfers competed from Minnesota and Wisconsin. The Mustangs had a good showing on a very windy day tying for 10th place with a team score of 321 (only 3 shots out of 7th place). Leading the way were Tyler Reckin with a 4 over 75, good for 7th place, Trent Wold with an 80 good for 32nd place, followed by Wes Miller & Quin Rabenick both shooting 83, Isaac Rynes 86 & Isaac Anderson 87. Our goal was a top 10 finish and this was the highest finish for the Mustangs in this tough opening invite in several years.
Congratulations to the Girls Track and Field Team for winning the Dunn County Invite here on Tuesday night. Event winners included Lauren Ohman in the 800 meter, Evelyn Doyle in the high jump, Grace Nevin in the pole vault, Bri Klimek in the shot put, and Mari Ramirez in the long jump.
Congratulations to Darla Woodford who competed on Tuesday at the FCCLA State Leadership Conference at the Kalahari in Wisconsin Dells. Monday evening Darla took a Culinary Baking Qualification Exam to secure her placement in the competition for Tuesday. She qualified, earning her the ability to continue to the baking competition. Darla was scored on safety & sanitation, product production, presentation and tasting for the following items: Quick bread, Choux Pastry, Cookie, and Cake Decorating. Darla scored a Silver which qualifies her to compete at the National FCCLA Conference in Washington, DC in July!

JV2 Baseball had a game last Thursday where they fell to Chippewa Falls. JV Baseball defeated Marshfield 9-7. Maxel Keyes hit his first High School home run to lead the Mustangs offense. Mavrick Scribner picked up the win on the mound. Varsity Baseball beat a Marshfield team 5-1 behind a great outing from Bailey Casey and Cade Lamb on the mound. The pitching staff had zero earned runs on the day. Charlie Mikesell and Taylor Mars led the offensive attack each with 2 hits.
Please congratulate our HOSA (Home Economics Related Occupations) State competitors: Evelyn Doyle, Sophia McNally, Mya Romsos, Izzie Remondino, Taylor Hoff and Maggie Winsand. And congratulations to Taylor Hoff and Maggie Winsand for placing 5th in the state in their competition event, Community Awareness.
The Boys Tennis Team went 3-1 this weekend at a very competitive Milwaukee Area 16 team tournament. The Mustangs defeated Big Foot 7-0, Whitnall 5-2, and Muskego 4-3, but lost a close match to Waukesha South 3-4. The team is now 7-1 overall and off to a great start to the season.
Congratulations to the Boys Track Team for their outstanding performance at the BRC True Team Invite on Friday. The boys finished third of six teams. Top performers were 3rd place finishes from Evan Olson in the 1600m and 800m and a 3rd place finish from the 4x200m relay team of Landon Vang, John Gruber, Kenny Heim and Rylan Holmstadt. 2nd place finishers were Owen Pelzel in the 1600m and Javan Butler in the long jump. Special congratulations to Javan for breaking the freshmen school record in the 100m and the long jump.
JV Baseball defeated Wausau East 19-3 on Friday. Gavin Mittlestadt threw a complete game while collecting two hits. Max Keyes and Gavin Watkins also collected 2 hits on the day as well to pace the Mustangs offense. Varsity Baseballdefeated Wausau East 7-4 on Friday. Max Jaeger threw 5 innings and got the win. Cade Lamb threw 2 innings and recorded the save. Taylor Mars, Landon Mittlestadt, Kellent Turner and Charlie Mikesell all recorded 2 hits to pace the Mustang offense. JV Baseball defeated Altoona 7-2 on Saturday. Max Davis went 6 innings only allowing 2 runs, while Garrett Witt closed the game while striking out 2 of 3 hitters. Reece Birt, Tyler Sutherland, and Eric Zydowskyall collected extra base hits for the Mustang offense. Varsity Baseball defeated Altoona 10-4 on Saturday. Luke Bystolthrew 4 innings while striking out 7, and Charlie Mikesell came in and recorded the win and striking out 5. Andrew Hoff and Luke Bystol each recorded 3 hits and had at least 2 RBIs. All Mustang Baseball teams are back in action Tuesday against River Falls.

Congratulations to the Girls Track and Field Team for their great performances on Friday in Hudson at the BRC True Team Invite. The girls finished third overall, with individual champions including Bennett Schmitt in the 1600, Bella Drake in the 3200, Bri Klimek in the shot put, and Isabel Sorensen in the 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles and triple jump. Great job ladies and good luck at your home meet on Thursday!
