Q & A by City Clerk, Deputy Clerk
Question: Do you have enough poll workers? How do I become a poll worker? What is the last day to sign up
Answer: We are always looking for more poll workers! Anyone who is interested should reach out to the City Clerk’s Office via email at [email protected]. We will share all the information needed via email.
Poll Workers do have to meet a few requirements, which are as follows:
They must be a qualified elector.
a. A Citizen
b. At least 18 years old,
i. High School students can be a poll worker if they are at least 16 or 17 years old; are enrolled in grades 9 to 12 in a public, private, or tribal school, or private home-based educational program; have at least a 3.0 GPA, or equivalent (if less than 3.0 GP, they need written permission from the school principal); written approval from the students parent or guardian; and must reside in the municipality of the polling location they will work at (i.e. a resident of the City of Menomonie).
c. A resident of Dunn County
d. Not a felon
e. Not disqualified from voting in any other way.
i. Serving sentence or parole,
ii. Having placed a bet or wager on the outcome of the election.
The latest that we would be able to accept a Poll Worker is the Friday before the election (October 30th) as we would not be able to get them access to the online training required to be a poll worker and have them take their oath of office after that date. [email protected]
