The Varsity Girls Golf Team finished in 8th place at the BRC meet at Wild Ridge course on Tuesday. The course played tough and all the team scores were higher than usual. Leading the way were Evy Asher shooting a 48, good for 11th overall and Eva Elliot with a 49 good for 15th. Also scoring were Zoey Cleveland and Keatyn Micek.
The JV Team finished in 6th at Mill Run course and scored 13 strokes higher than their last meet. Leading the JV were Savannah Spiess with a 64 good for 19th place followed by Ellie Arndt, Ava Brey and Claire Manny.
Congratulations to the Girls Cross Country Team for their 1st place finish at the 36 team Rice Lake Invite on Tuesday. There were 186 runners in the varsity race. Veronica Molback finished 4th, Lauren Ohman was 9th, Carmen Schrantzwas 10th and Addison Schuler was 11th. Rounding out the scorers for the Mustangs was Bree Barknecht who finished 16th overall. The girls also won the JV Team swept the top five spots and finished with a perfect score of 15 points.
Last night the Girls Swim and Dive Team hosted the Eau Claire North Huskies. The night started strong with the Mustangs taking first and second overall in the 200 Freestyle event with Ellie Zydowsky and Eilyn Black. Zydowsky went on to take first as well in the 100 backstroke. Addison McKown took home second place finishes in the 500 freestyle and 100 Breaststroke events while Ofelia Prechel won first overall in the diving event. The biggest drop of the night came from Gwen Brulz in the 500 freestyle with a 23 second time drop.
Thursday, September 17
The Girls Varsity Golf Team finished in last place Wednesday at River Falls on a tough course and tough scoring day for all teams. Leading the way were freshmen Keatyn Micek carding a 51 good for 18th place and Eva Elliot with a 53 good for 23rd place. Both earned all conference points for the meet. Others scoring were Evy Asher and Zoey Cleveland. The JV Team played with only 3 players in their meet. Leading the JV were Ava Brey with a 63 good for 12th place followed by Claire Manny and Zoey Closson.
Friday, September 18
The Girls Varsity Golf Team capped off a busy week finishing in 8th place at the BRC meet at Troy Burne in Hudson Thursday, but had their 2nd best 9 hole score of the year on a very tough course. Leading the way were Keatyn Micekcarding a 47 good for 13th place overall (out of 40 golfers) and Evy Asher with a 49 good for 19th place. Also scoring Eva Elliot 53 and Zoey Cleveland with 57.
Monday, September 21
On Saturday the Girls Swim and Dive Team competed at the Chippewa Falls Invitational, taking 7th place overall. The team of Ellie Zydowsky, Elsa Bowman, Addison McKown, and Grace Nodolf brought home a medal for 3rd place overall in the 200 Medley Relay. Zydowsky went on to win medals in both the 50 freestyle for 5th place overall and in the 100 backstroke for 6th place overall. Personal bests were earned throughout the meet; the biggest time drops of the meet came from McKenzie Thatcher dropping over 2 minutes in the 500 yard freestyle and from Elliana Evansdropping 11 seconds in the 200 yard freestyle.
Congratulations to the Girls Cross Country Team for their outstanding performances at the Roy Griak Invitational at the University of Minnesota on Saturday. The girls finished 1st of 38 teams to continue their undefeated season. Five Mustangs finished in the top 20 in a field of 278 runners: Carmen Schrantz was 17th, Addie Schuler was 15th, Bella Drake 13th, Lauren Ohman 7th and Veronica Molback 2nd. Also, congratulations to Veronica for breaking the freshmen school 5k record.
Congratulations to the Boys Cross Country Team on their outstanding performance this past weekend at the Roy Griak Invitational at the University of Minnesota. The boys competed in the 34 team Maroon Race and brought home the Championship Trophy! They were led by Owen Pelzel who took the runner-up spot individually, as well as top 10 finishes from Noah Winder and Evan Olson. The three seniors also ran fast enough on Saturday to earn All-American honors for this cross country season.
Tuesday, September 22
The JV Golf Team finished their successful season on a positive note at the New Richmond JV BRC Final on Monday, finishing 30 shots better than the first match of the season. Leading the way: Ava Brey with a 63 good for 20th place, followed by Ellie Arndt with 65, Claire Manny with 66 and Savannah Spiess with 69. The young JV Team worked very hard during the season and improved each meet.
The Sophomore Football Team lost to Rice Lake 30-14 last night.
