Community Conversation’s next presentation will be on grass roots organizing with a presentation by GROWW (Grass Roots Organizing Western Wisconsin).
The event will be held on Saturday, May 2 at the Menomonie Public Library from 12:30 – 2:30pm.
GROWW’s Housing Justice Team will tell the story of organizing the community into action – from “grassroots school,” to canvassing and research, to crafting legislation and passing an ordinance; they will share their journey and key insights.
GROWW will also discuss key components of Menomonie SHIELD, the city ordinance they recently helped to pass. Attendees will hear from a participant who will share a personal story on what working with the Housing Justice Team has meant to them.
There will be time for questions and to hear about opportunities to get involved.
