MENOMONIE – University of Wisconsin-Stout Director of Athletics Erin Sullivan has named Tom Webb as the 17th head coach in the history of the Blue Devil men’s basketball program, elevating him after he served as interim head coach during the 2025-26 season.
“Tom has demonstrated strong leadership, a deep commitment to our student-athletes, and a clear vision for the future of our program,” Sullivan said. “We are excited to officially name him as our head coach and continue building on the progress made this past season.”
Webb guided the Blue Devils to a 9-17 overall record and a 5-9 mark in WIAC play in 2025-26, earning a berth in the WIAC Tournament for just the second time since the 2012-13 season. Stout developed a defensive identity, ranking 88th nationally in scoring defense (70.3 points allowed) and 52nd in blocks per game (4.0).
The Blue Devils recorded key wins over nationally ranked opponents, including a 66-58 road upset of No. 6 Illinois Wesleyan, an 83-67 home victory over No. 11 UW-Stevens Point, and a 78-77 road win against No. 16 UW-Oshkosh.
Individually, Collin Vick earned All-WIAC Defensive Team and honorable mention honors, leading the league in assists and steals, while Aidan Shore also earned All-Defensive Team recognition after leading the conference in blocks. AJ Uttech added All-WIAC honorable mention honors.
“I would like to thank Chancellor Katherine Frank, Athletic Director Erin Sullivan, and the search committee for the opportunity to continue leading and restoring Blue Devil Basketball,” Webb said. “My family and I are incredibly excited to remain part of UW-Stout, the Menomonie community, and the future of this program.”
